As part of the upcoming documentary George Michael: Freedom, previously unseen visuals from the filming of the singer’s iconic “Freedom” video have been released. The video, directed by filmmaker David Fincher (The Social Network, Fight Club), features supermodels Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford, along with a “biker jacket [and] a smash hit song.” The new footage, an amalgamation of candid stills and clips of the models and singer on set, come together for a teaser that could have easily passed for the official visuals.
The new Showtime documentary will focus on Michael’s turbulent Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 era, following his wildly successful 1987 solo debut, Faith. Filming wrapped prior to Michael’s death on Dec. 25 2016, and offers fans an intimate view of the singers personal life, along with archival footage from the early 1990s.
George Michael: Freedom is set to air on Oct. 21 at 9p.m. EST on Showtime. Watch the new “Freedom” outtakes below.
